The Engagement Directorate

The Engagement directorate brings together all the ways we connect with, support and interact with the public directly. It ensures we provide information, empower individuals, and build a strong, engaged community.

Led by Sonia Sudhakar

About the Engagement directorate

The goal of our teams in the Engagement directorate is to inspire the public to become actively involved in the Macmillan community. Whether that's through using our services or helping us to raise the essential funds we need to run those services.

The directorate is made up of the following teams and divisions.

The Services team

The Services team provides support to people living with cancer at every stage of their experience. They provide information and support on the Macmillan Support Line and online by chat and email. The team includes our information and support advisors, cancer information nurse specialists and money advisors.

Communications, Brand and Content

Communications, Brand and Content raises awareness of Macmillan’s mission. They are also responsible for producing clinically approved cancer information content like:

Customer, Marketing and Innovation

The Customer, Marketing and Innovation division makes sure that we listen and respond to those we serve. They also make what we do more innovative, efficient and seamless.

Mass Relationships

The Mass Relationships division looks after our generous donors, supporters and volunteers. They ensure we recognise and support the incredible Macmillan community across the UK.

Public Fundraising

Public Fundraising runs our fundraising activities. This includes our Mighty Hike events and annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.

A group of people are sat together on sofas and armchairs around a coffee table. They are taking part in Macmillan's Open House. This event was co-created with Black and South Asian communities to talk about cancer, culture, and everything in between.
