About the partnerships directorate

We work in partnership with:

  • public services
  • the voluntary sector and community organisations
  • corporate and commercial organisations
  • philanthropists and high value donors
  • people with lived experience
  • Macmillan professionals
  • governments and other organisations as part of our advocacy work.

The directorate has the following teams and divisions.

National Systems Change

The National Systems Change team includes our External Affairs and National Partnerships teams. They manage our relationships with decision-makers and national partners. Their focus is to advocate for and with people living with cancer.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy team

The Corporate Partnerships work with corporate and commercial partners. They tailor their giving experiences to fit their needs and meet corporate goals.

The Philanthropy team works with our high value donors and philanthropists. They run high value events throughout the year.

Centre of Clinical Expertise

The Centre of Clinical Expertise connects us with the healthcare professionals who deliver cancer care. The team gathers clinical insights to support Macmillan's work. It is head by Professor Richard Simcock, our Chief Medical Officer, and Claire Taylor, Chief Nursing Officer.

Community and Systems Partnership

The Community and Systems Partnership division is also part of the directorate. The teams in this division include:

  • Systems Intervention and Investment, managing our work to transform change in healthcare systems.
  • Communities and Participation, working with people with lived experience and community organisations.
  • Professional Engagement and Professional Development and Knowledge. Both teams manage our training and development offer for Macmillan Professionals.
  • Programme Implementation, experts in managing effective projects to create change.
