Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
The UK voluntary regulator for complementary health practitioners. You can search the CNHC Register for accredited practitioners in your area who meet agreed levels of competence and practice. The CNHC was set up by the government to protect the public. The CNHC does this by providing a UK register of complementary health practitioners (which can be searched on the CNHC website) and by setting the standards that practitioners need to meet to get onto and then stay on the register. All CNHC registrants have agreed to be bound by the highest standards of conduct and have registered voluntarily. All of them are professionally trained and fully insured to practise. The CNHC investigates complaints about alleged breaches of our Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance and can impose disciplinary sanctions that mirror those of the statutory healthcare regulators. The CNHC registers the practitioners of the following professions: Alexander Technique; Aromatherapy; Bowen Therapy; Craniosacral Therapy; Healing; Hypnotherapy; Massage Therapy; Acupuncture; Naturopathy; Nutritional Therapy; Reflexology; Reiki; Shiatsu; Sports Therapy; Yoga Therapy.
