Can you help Macmillan by donating dormant client account funds?
Your support will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are.
What are dormant funds?
Dormant client funds are unclaimed balances remaining in a law firm’s client account that cannot be returned to the client because the client cannot be located or contacted.
The law firm can, with certain safeguards, withdraw such funds and donate them to charity.
If all reasonable steps to trace the client have been taken and all efforts to return the money have been unsuccessful, donating such residual funds to charity is the most hassle free, risk free and cost-effective option for law firms. In addition, you will be donating to a worthy cause.
