How to apply
Before applying, please read the guidance to make sure the funding is right for you. There are different types of funding available which each have their own purposes and eligibility.
If you have any questions, our regional Macmillan Intervention Leads are here to help.
Together, we can do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for the future.

Macmillan funding grant eligibility criteria
Macmillan funding grants have eligibility criteria for funding which applicants must meet to apply for a grant. Some grants may have additional eligibility criteria so it is important to read all available information for the grant type before applying.
- The intervention’s objectives must align with Macmillan’s charitable objectives (please refer to Macmillan’s website for details on our charitable objectives)
- Must be a ‘not for profit’ group or organisation
- Your organisation/group must be based in the UK and all interventions must take place within the UK; Macmillan does not provide funding for overseas interventions
- The intervention has not already taken place or started before the grant award date. Macmillan is unable to provide funding retrospectively
- You must have a UK bank account in your organisation’s/group’s name with at least two independent signatories (who are not related to each other)
- You must be able to provide documentation to evidence your organisation’s/group’s bank account
- You must be able to provide financial accounts for a minimum period of the previous 12 months
- Your organisation/group must have a Safeguarding Policy and training on safeguarding for its trustees, staff and volunteers
- Your application must be able to provide detailed information on your proposed intervention, including: what is it you are trying to achieve, how will it benefit people living with cancer, how many people it is expected to impact, and how you will measure and report on its impact
- The benefits of the project are demonstrable and you are able to provide evidence of this to Macmillan
Please note that this is for eligibility purposes only and the list may not be exhaustive. It is important to discuss eligibility and grant conditions with a Macmillan Intervention Lead.
