General Eligibility Criteria for Macmillan Funding & Grants
All applicants must meet Macmillan’s general eligibility criteria to be considered for funding. Some grant programmes may also include additional requirements specific to that funding stream, so it is important to read all available information for the grant type before applying.
Organisational eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a not-for-profit group or organisation.
- Be based in the UK, with all funded projects taking place within the UK. Macmillan does not fund overseas interventions.
- Have a UK bank account in the organisation’s/group’s name with at least two independent signatories who are not related to each other.
- Be able to provide documentation evidencing the organisation’s/group’s bank account.
- Be able to provide financial accounts covering a minimum of the previous 12 months.
- Have a Safeguarding Policy in place and provide safeguarding training for trustees, staff, and volunteers.
Project eligibility
The proposed intervention must:
- Align with Macmillan’s charitable objectives (please refer to Macmillan’s website for details).
- Not have already started or taken place before the grant award date, as Macmillan cannot provide retrospective funding.
Application requirements
Applications must clearly explain:
- What the intervention aims to achieve.
- How it will benefit people living with cancer.
- How many people it is expected to impact.
- How impact will be measured and reported.
Monitoring and evidence
- The benefits of the project must be demonstrable.
- Applicants must be able to provide evidence of impact to Macmillan.
