Neighbourhood Health Grants and Funding
What is Neighbourhood Health?
This is a long-term change in how care is designed, delivered, and experienced.
You might hear this called ‘Community by Design’ in Wales, ‘the Neighbourhood Model of Health and Wellbeing’ in Northern Ireland, ‘Improving the Cancer Journey’ in Scotland, and ‘Neighbourhood Health’ in England.
But wherever we work across the UK, our ambition is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: there is a better way.
How Macmillan is helping to make this happen
We know this change cannot be delivered by one organisation alone. This is a national movement to make cancer care fair for everyone, by putting more care and support where people are.
Macmillan brings decades of experience in cancer care and support, working alongside the NHS, local organisations and communities to improve support for people living with cancer.
Macmillan is committed to working alongside others to test, learn and deliver change that makes care more connected, equitable, and responsive to people’s lives.
We will:
- Work in partnership with health systems, communities and people living with cancer to design better support.
- Co-design approaches with people facing the greatest barriers to care.
- Invest in change while helping local systems build their own capability and capacity.
- Share learning and evidence about what works and what doesn’t.
- Support long-term change so improvements can continue into the future.
One of the ways Macmillan is supporting this work is through grant funding. Please see the Open Funding and Coming Soon Funding sections below for further information on funding available.
