Support for your patients
At Macmillan we'll do whatever it takes to help your patients with cancer, whether they are looking for specific information or just want someone to talk to. We have created a guide to enable you to identify the services that are best for the people you are helping.
Why signpost patients to Macmillan?
We can complement your care by helping to answer any questions your patients may have in between appointments, in whatever way suits them best.
How we can help
Your patients have many needs, which are likely to change as they move through their cancer journey. Our specialist information and support can help your patients, whatever their needs, whether financial, work-related or practical.

Easy referrals for GPs
You can now easily refer your patients with cancer to the Macmillan Support Line through a referral form embedded within EMIS and SystmOne. You simply need to fill in the form, save it and email it to Macmillan at supportlinereferrals@macmillan.org.uk. Once referred, the patient will receive a call back from one of our advisers who will assess their needs and offer relevant information and support options.
Please note – it is not possible to get a local Macmillan nurse by referring to the Macmillan Support Line. And to refer someone for palliative care, please use your already established local referral routes.
