About the pelvic area

The pelvis is the lower part of the tummy (abdomen) between the hips.

The male pelvis

The male pelvic area has the following:

  • lower end of the large bowel (the colon, rectum and anus) and part of the small bowel
  • prostate gland, testicles, penis and bladder
  • lymph nodes (glands)
  • pelvic bones
  • blood vessels and nerves.

  • ovaries and fallopian tubes
  • womb (uterus), cervix and vagina
  • bladder
