Macmillan, Money & More
Cancer can disrupt your whole life, and at Macmillan, we know that no one’s experience of cancer is the same. Many are left navigating complex financial pressures, rising living costs, and systems that are difficult to access or understand. For those already facing the greatest barriers, these pressures can be even harder to overcome.
At Macmillan, we believe support should fit the person, not the system. Macmillan, Money & More is our new UK‑wide approach to making sure people can get not just advice about their money, but all the joined up help they need to help them manage the different pressures cancer is creating in their lives.
What is Macmillan, Money & More?
Macmillan, Money & More is about offering guidance where it is needed most, and developing local advice services that are shaped and led by communities themselves. We are working with local partners, in communities in every part of the UK to provide easier-to-understand practical information and advice where it is needed the most.
We are working with 12 regional partner organisations to build local networks of support across the UK. By working with organisations that understand their communities best, we are making it easier for people to access advice and feel supported by trusted organisations rooted in their community.
Macmillan, Money & More, will be open and accessible to anyone affected by cancer in their local area.
Why we are changing our approach
Right now, cancer care isn’t fair. Too many people face avoidable barriers to getting the support they need.
Building on the strength of our long-standing partnerships with communities across the UK, Macmillan, Money & More has been designed to reach people living with cancer earlier and provide more targeted support for those facing the greatest barriers. It is about working directly with communities to make local advice services not just more accessible, but more sustainable into the future as well.
This new approach is part of Macmillan’s commitment to making cancer care fairer, so no one is left behind because of who they or where they live.
How will Macmillan, Money & More work in practice?
Over the next three years, Macmillan will work with 12 regional partnerships across the UK to help support people living with and affected by cancer in their local communities.
These services will be shaped by local partners to reflect the needs of their communities. They will be shaped to better connect with existing care and community support networks in their regions. Our partners will lead delivery locally, helping make sure vital advice and support reaches the people who need it most and can continue beyond Macmillan’s initial three-year investment.
Alongside this, Macmillan’s Support Line and online information and support services will continue to be available for anyone affected by cancer across the UK.
These will be the organisations leading the new financial wellbeing services in your area:
- North – Citizens Advice Northumbria
- North West – Citizens Advice SORT Group
- Midlands – Citizens Advice Coventry
- East of England – Hertfordshire County Council
- London – Toynbee Hall
- South East – Citizen Advice Hampshire
- South West-North – Citizen Advice Bristol
- South West-South - Citizens Advice Torridge, North, West and Mid Devon
- Northern Ireland – Advice Space
- South Scotland – Working 4U West Dumbartonshire Council
- North Scotland – Citizens Advice Inverness, Badenoch and Strathspey
- Wales – Tenovus Cancer Care
This shift is a vital part of our work to inspire a national movement to make care fair for everyone by putting more care and support where people live – rooting those services at the heart of communities themselves.
