The Big Help Out volunteering day

Inspiring people to volunteer

The Big Help Out is a national day of volunteering taking place on 8 May to mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation.

The day is about inspiring people to try volunteering for the first time and will hopefully encourage more people to help out in their local communities.

Whether that's by giving a couple hours of support each week, month or year. The time given by volunteers all over the country really makes an impact.

4 ways to get involved in The Big Help Out

  1. Join us as a volunteer
Macmillan offers hundreds of volunteer roles, from bucket collections to offering a listening ear or cheering at our events, and more. Whatever you choose you'll be benefitting people living with cancer.
  2. Spread the word
Share Macmillan's latest opportunities and the benefits of volunteering with Macmillan amongst your friends, family, or colleagues.
  3. Organise an event
You can also celebrate the King's Coronation by hosting a Coffee Morning. We have ideas to get you started.
  4. Join our volunteer community online
Our Facebook group is open to volunteers, supporters, and anyone who would like to join the conversation about helping people living with cancer. It’s a great place to connect, share, ask questions and chat about all things volunteering.
