The Planning Ahead Service is for anyone who’s interested in making financial plans for the future. It starts with a free 30 minute consultation with the full-service law firm Irwin Mitchell.

Their legal and financial advisers will spend time understanding your situation and goals to create a tailored and costed service plan that meets your needs and aspirations. This could include discounted Lasting Powers of Attorney, inheritance tax, succession planning, financial planning, or a free simple Will. There is no obligation to take up any services after your consultation.

  3. After your consultation Irwin Mitchell will send you a tailored costed plan for you to decide if you want to go ahead and take up any services.
  4. Share your feedback! The Planning Ahead Service is a new offer from Macmillan and Irwin Mitchell and your experience matters to us.
  • What services are offered as part of this service? And how much will they cost?

    Free consultation
    Irwin Mitchell will provide a free half hour no obligation consultation in which their legal and financial advisers will provide you with a tailored and costed plan. This will involve looking at finances to help you understand your current financial situation.

    Updating or writing your Will
    Updating or writing your Will is essential in ensuring your loved ones and wishes are protected. Providing your wishes are simple, you Will is offered for free*.

    Complex Wills - 15% discount
    Some Wills are more complex due to various factors or involve disputes.

    Lasting Powers of Attorney - 15% discount
    If you’re worried about losing the ability to manage your own affairs in the future, consider making a Lasting Power of Attorney. This means you appoint someone else to make decisions on your behalf if you lose mental capacity.

    Succession and Inheritance Tax planning - 15% discount
    Succession and Inheritance Tax planning helps to minimise the risk to your legacy and supports you to make and carry out decisions to ensure it is protected for future generations.
    * Simple Wills sold by Irwin Mitchell within the Planning Ahead Service will be free to the customer and paid for by Macmillan. Customers also have the option to use Macmillan’s recommended panel of will writing providers through its Free Wills Service.
