Macmillan Open House
Our space to talk about cancer, culture, and everything in between. Cancer can disrupt your whole life. And it can be made much worse simply because of who you are or where you live. No one’s experience of cancer is the same, that’s why we’re here, doing whatever it takes to ensure you get access to the right cancer support for your needs.
Whoever You Are, Whatever It Takes
Macmillan Open House is our space-co-created with Black and South Asian communities to talk about cancer, culture, and everything in between.
But Macmillan Open House isn’t just about talking, it’s about listening, learning, and being seen. A community-led space where everyone’s voice matters, where you can find advice, support, and services that truly make a difference.
Nellie’s story
Three months after giving birth, Nellie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She reflects on the lack of information surrounding cancer and pregnancy, and how she navigated the difficulties of being unable to identify with cancer resources, particularly the lack of representation for radiotherapy on black skin.
