Sheffield Half Marathon 2020 update

The organisers of the Sheffield Half Marathon have confirmed the event will be postponed to Sunday 27th September. We hope our runners will be able to join us on this new date, and will be in contact with all our charity place participants over the coming week with guidance on next steps.

Are you ready to take to the streets of the steel city and the infamous hill? With Sheffield being built on seven hills, you’ll enjoy a city centre atmosphere for the start and finish, and be rewarded with views of the Peak District as you conquer the climb to Ringinglow.

By 2030, the number of people living with and beyond cancer in South Yorkshire will be 71,000, enough to fill Sheffield Wednesday's stadium nearly twice. Macmillan offers support with over 150 professionals working in the area. However, we couldn’t do that without the support of amazing people like you.

How do I run for Macmillan?

We have now sold out of charity places, You can still run for Macmillan Cancer Support by securing a general entry place directly on the official race website. If you secure your own place, there is no minimum fundraising target, we just ask you to raise as much as you can for Macmillan (our charity place runners are required to raise £250).

What do I get as part of #TeamMacmillan?

Whether you secure a charity place or a general entry place, you'll still be a part of Team Macmillan. As part of being on our team, we'll make sure you have:

  • Our bumper fundraising pack, access to our online training zone and loads of fundraising tips and tricks.
  • Your free Team Macmillan technical running vest or t-shirt, plus iron on letters to customise your kit.
  • Regular e-newsletters keeping you in the loop in the lead up to race day.
  • And of course... the loudest and most supportive cheerers on the course!

Most importantly we will provide you with a reason to put in those months of training and fundraising, because you know that your efforts are going towards improving the lives of people living with cancer in the UK today.

Why be part of the green team?

We want to use this amazing event to make a difference. We know cancer can affect everything; your body, your relationships, your money, everything. But we are here to help people live life, no matter what. We give them the support they need to hold on to who they are and what’s important.

But we can’t do it without you. Join Team Macmillan for the Sheffield Half Marathon and we will treat you like the superhero you are from the moment you sign up through to when you cross the finish line. Life with cancer is still a life. Join Team Macmillan and help people live it.

The minimum age for this event is 17 years old.
