Vivek and Tyler’s story
Vivek and Tyler both took on HYROX London ExCel in 2024, with two very different perspectives. Join them in conversation as they chat about their reasons and motivations for taking on HYROX for Macmillan.
Vivek took on his first HYROX in memory of his mum, who passed in 2023.
‘I went to go see my friend do it for the first time last November. I looked at it and thought hell no, I’m not doing this! But when I was walking around, I saw the Macmillan stand, and Macmillan was something that was close to me because it only been two or three months when I went to that event after I had lost mum, and I lost mum to cancer. I thought if I am to do it, it is going to be for a good cause.'
Tyler took on his 8th HYROX race, having started back in 2021. As an adaptive athlete and brand ambassador for HYROX, Tyler dedicated this race for Macmillan in honour of his uncle Steve.
‘He was always proud of everything I did, especially in the fitness space, some of the challenges I did like when I was on Ninja Warrior a few years ago he was like bursting with pride that I’ve been on TV and got through this challenge further than some other people with both their legs and arms and that was something he always reminded me of.’
