About this leaflet
The leaflet explains what metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC) is and what symptoms to check for. It also tells you what to do if you develop symptoms. MSCC can be very serious. It is important that you know the symptoms so you can get medical advice as soon as possible. The earlier treatment starts, the more likely it is to be effective.
We also have an MSCC alert card which explains the symptoms of MSCC and when patients should see a doctor immediately.

We want everyone affected by cancer to feel our information is written for them. To do this we use plain English and we try to make it accessible and relevant to the widest range of people. Read more about how we produce our information.
