Local Cancer Intelligence

We worked with our collaborative partners, and existing cancer data, to develop Local Cancer Intelligence (LCI) tools. The tools are designed to help NHS commissioners better understand the needs of people living with cancer in their local area.

Where can I access the LCI tools?

You can find links to all of our LCI tools below:

An LCI tool for Scotland is currently in development.

How can the tools support my work?

As well as being useful for commissioners, LCI is designed to support Macmillan’s local service development teams, who work in partnership with Macmillan Professionals, the local NHS, Local Authorities, national and local voluntary organisations, and other charities to develop services for people living with cancer.

How were the tools developed?

We collaborated with Public Health England’s National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) in England, the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry (NICR) in Northern Ireland, and the Welsh Cancer Intelligence and Surveillance Unit (WCISU) in Wales to integrate the best data and insights from Macmillan and other sources into a comprehensive but intuitive interactive online tool.
