Responding to the Autumn Budget, Kate Seymour, Head of Advocacy at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
“Today’s Budget is a step in the right direction for fixing the foundations of the NHS in England and could be a real lifeline for the one in three people who are finding it harder to live with cancer now than at any other time they can remember.
“There’s still a huge amount of work to do. Today’s measures to invest in the NHS and reduce the backlog for cancer diagnoses and treatment in England are a real opportunity to start delivering consistent, high-quality care for everyone with cancer, regardless of who they are and where they live. We look forward to working with the government on the 10 Year Health Plan to make world-class cancer care a reality for all.”
