Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week takes place every year from the 1-7 June and celebrates the contributions volunteers make to organisations like Macmillan. 

How our volunteers make a difference

Each year, more than 10,000 people volunteer for Macmillan - giving their time, energy, and experience to support people living with cancer.

What volunteering opportunities are available at Macmillan?

Become a Macmillan Buddy
As a Macmillan Buddy, you'll be paired with a person living with cancer and offer them weekly support in their community and home, or over the phone.

Volunteer at our events
Throughout the year, we need people to cheer on Team Macmillan at events across the UK. With your support, we can celebrate those who raise money for Macmillan and spread awareness of our vital work.

Help at one of our Support Centres
There are opportunities to get involved in the support we provide at some of our Support Centres. From lending a listening ear to providing a cup of tea, your help will support people with cancer and those that care for them.

Whilst visiting her brother in hospital, Asha became inspired to help support people living with cancer. Her role as a volunteer has helped many people over the years, and helped her community to be more open about cancer.

The Thanks To You Awards

Our annual Thanks to You Awards is our chance to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers. And celebrate the achievements of some extraordinary people who give their time, energy and experience to Macmillan.

There are six award categories and this year's award ceremony will take place on Thursday 1 June in Birmingham.
