The Macmillan Information and Support Centre is based in the NGS Macmillan Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and anyone affected by cancer can drop into the centre to meet the staff and volunteers who will help you find the information and support you need. All our services are free and include: Look Good Feel Better skin care and makeup workshops for women. To book ring 01246 516406 or call in the centre. Complementary therapies (Hypnotherapy, Reiki and Reflexology) by experienced therapists from the Cavendish Cancer Centre (funded by Weston Park Cancer Charity). To book phone the Trendco office on 0115 947 5316 who will arrange an appointment in the Macmillan centre in Chesterfield. Headstrong is a service which can advise on head ware, hats scarves and scalp care. To book, ring 01246 516406 or call in the centre. Welfare and benefits service to provide help for anyone affected by a recent cancer diagnosis in financial need. To book, ring 01246 516406 or call in the centre. Moving Forward after breast cancer courses and MOVING ON after cancer treatment courses to help when treatment has finished. To book ring 01246 516406 or call in the centre. Psychology support service for people experiencing problems after diagnosis. Your health professional (nurse specialist or doctor) will refer you to this service if needed. Radiotherapy information afternoons provided by Weston Park Hospital Radiographer. Art therapy sessions for anyone with a cancer diagnosis to help express or communicate their feelings. We have a service for parents or main carer diagnosed with advanced cancer to help them talk with and prepare their children for the future. To organise an appointment either in the centre (or on the ward) please ring to centre to organise. You can call in the centre or phone to arrange an appointment with one of the Macmillan information staff to talk through your concerns and needs. We can explain what local and national support is available to help you and this may include counselling services, care provision, support groups, help with talking with children and support with a wide range of issues a cancer diagnosis may have had on you and your family.
