The Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Centre at North Manchester General Hospital is a calm, relaxed, comfortable environment for anyone affected by cancer, either as a carer or someone with cancer, or anyone who wants to know more about cancer. Staffed by the Macmillan Information & Support team and trained volunteers, the service offers emotional and practical support, information and advice about different types of cancer, treatment & side effects and life with or after cancer, access to benefits and finance advice, and signposting to support groups and organisations. The service is part of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust which also include Fairfield General Hospital, Bury, The Royal Oldham Hospital, and Rochdale Infirmary and can be accessed by anyone from these areas either in person, by phone or by email.
Monday to Friday, 9.00am -16.00pm (except bank and public holidays) ). Outside these hours by appointment. People who are in-patients at the hospital but cannot get to the centre can request a ward visit. Please check before making a special journey.
