Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service - Doncaster

Information and support centres

Due to Covid-19 please phone or email us to check our opening times and availability before visiting our Centre. The service provides confidential support to anyone wanting to discuss how cancer is affecting their life. This can be by telephone, at an appointment in St John’s Information and Support Centre or Doncaster Royal Infirmary ‘Hospital Macmillan Information Centre (POD)’ or a home visit can be arranged, if appropriate. We provide referrals to a number of local services and support including benefits assessments, counselling service, and social care teams. The Macmillan Pod houses a range of information materials and these can be posted out or people can call in and browse the booklets themselves in the main out-patients department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary e.g. diet, managing fatigue, treatment. A member of the team will be available to support if needed, during the normal working day. Referrals can be made by health and social care professionals or patients, family members or friends can self-refer by telephone or email.
