The Isle of Wight Ultra has been postponed until later in 2021. All participants will be updated about the new event date by 5 March by Action Challenge.

Great challenges need great settings - and none are better than the Island's coastal path. Walk the Island’s stunning Coastal Path on the second of the Ultra Challenge Series. It will be rewarding, fun, and absolutely achievable with a little determination!


The Challenge

Set on the Isle of Wight, this stunning coastal challenge will take you along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles and up to historic Cowes at the half way rest top.

For Full Island challenges it's on to Ventnor, and back to Chale after an amazing 106km journey. You'll get full support and hospitality all the way, and with the half and quarter island options also - there's an Isle of Wight challenge for everyone.

You'll experience beautiful sandy beaches, stunning views and an undulating coastal path. You'll be fully supported on the day, with excellent food and rest stops during your trek.

How to take part

Charity sponsorship - pay a small registration fee and do lots of fundraising
  • Full Challenge (106km) - £11.25 reg fee + £595 in fundraising
  • Half Challenge (52/54km) - £7.50 reg fee + £395 in fundraising
  • Quarter Challenge (25km) - £3.75 reg fee + £245 in fundraising

Mixed Funding - pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less
  • Full Challenge (106km) - £89.10 reg fee + £299 in fundraising
  • Half Challenge (52/54km) - £58.05 reg fee + £199 in fundraising
  • Quarter Challenge (25km) - £35.55 reg fee + £119 in fundraising

You will need to reach 50% of your fundraising target at least 6 weeks before the event in order to confirm your place on the day. But don't worry, we're on hand to help you meet your goal, with fundraising support throughout your journey with us. Or, obtain a Self Funded place and raise whatever you can to help support people living with cancer. Simply select the option to fundraise for Macmillan when signing up and we'll support you every step of the way.


Why Macmillan?

We want to use this amazing event to make a difference. We know cancer can affect everything; your body, your relationships, your money, everything. But we’re here to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer, and it's fundraisers like you make that possible.


Accessibility

Visually impaired participants are welcome, and usually take part with someone supporting them on route. There may be a discounted charge for this to cover event costs such as food etc. so please speak to the Action Challenge team for more details.

Event sites are generally in playing fields or outdoor areas on flat land. Please speak to the Action Challenge team to discuss the courses suitability to your accessibility requirements.

For spectators, there is limited wheelchair access and this can vary on the day depending on ground conditions.

Our main priority is the health and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers and colleagues. We’re committed to keeping you up to date with information regarding your event as we receive it.
