Put the fair into Welfare

Together, we can make sure that people living with cancer get vital financial support when they need it most.

We’ve been campaigning to make sure that the government’s planned changes to the welfare system don’t have a detrimental impact on people affected by cancer.

Take a closer look...

  • Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016

Campaigning against a £125 a month cut to some people on Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) which the government introduced.

  • Personal Independence Payments

Campaigning to ensure that people with cancer are able to access Personal Independence Payments (PIP) without delays.

  • Welfare Reform Act 2012

Campaigning to make sure that changes introduced through the Welfare Reform Act 2012 didn’t push people with cancer into poverty.

We will continue to campaign on welfare issues to ensure a fair deal for people affected by cancer. If you have been affected by any element of welfare reform, or if you receive any of these benefits, to tell us why it matters and help strengthen our campaign, please contact campaigns@macmillan.org.uk.

This may include:

  • Carers Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payments
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Changes to Housing Benefit
  • The benefit cap
  • Local welfare assistance schemes.

Together we can ensure that people affected by cancer receive financial support when they need it.
