About our partnership with Welcome Break
Welcome Break provide service stations all over the UK and we are thrilled with our partnership with Welcome Break going from strength to strength.
The partnership launched with a very fun Eurovision themed event raising over £15,000 in one weekend and they have now launched an exclusive Douglas Macmillan Bear which can be purchased at all sites.
On top of this Welcome Break are our biggest care package creator, accounting for 32% of all care packages created for people going through cancer treatment.
Welcome Break and Mighty Hikes
We're delighted to have Welcome Break onboard as our Official 'Pit Stop' Partner for our Mighty Hikes since 2024.
With their support, we're able to provide our hikers with several opportunities for some well-deserved rest, relaxation and refuelling on their marathon adventure!
Welcome Break also continue to be one of our best represented partners on Mighty Hikes.
Welcome Break and Coffee Morning
We are delighted that Welcome Break has joined us as a Coffee Morning Partner since 2024.
Welcome Break has supported the Coffee Morning campaign with gifts in kind as well as helping us to raise vital funds for people living with cancer across their sites.
Coffee Morning is the month all sites go Green to showcase our partnership and do whatever they can for people affected by cancer.
Visitors to Welcome Break locations can make a donation to Macmillan or buy a Macmillan ‘Douglas’ teddy bear, exclusively available at Welcome Break WHSmith stores.
We encourage everyone to support Macmillan by visiting Welcome Break and helping us to raise money to help people living with cancer.
Truck Drivers Project
Truck Drivers often have a worse outcome of cancer for a number of reasons. So Macmillan has partnered with Welcome Break, Mates in Mind and Road Haulage Association to help bridge the gap for health inequities for Truck Drivers.
This campaign focuses on physical and mental health of truck drivers, and aims to help Empower truck drivers to access support available for them, encourage them to take positive steps to mitigate against their chances of developing cancer or mental health conditions and to educate them on signs and symptoms so they can access support quicker.
To date we have reached 89 drivers.
