Welcome home to all our intrepid Escape to Africa cyclists. Please check back soon for information on a brand new challenge we will be launching for 2014.
Quick facts
Starting just east of Nairobi in Kenya, Escape to Africa will take you across rough savannah, through wooded bush land, past the foot of the highest, freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro, and over the finish line at the largest intact volcanic crater on earth, the Ngorongoro Crater.
The crater is home to a spectacular concentration of wildlife, including zebra, wildebeest, elephants and the densest-known population of lions, you will be rewarded for your fantastic efforts by having a day’s safari into this stunning natural world.
Mark our words, this is a tough cycle which will test your determination and patience as you adapt to the climate and take on the rough terrain of Africa’s wilderness.
You will be cycling along a mixture of good tarmac roads and rough dirt tracks, through vibrant towns and villages with a chance to experience Maasai culture. Macmillan will be there all the way to support you in both your training and fundraising, and throughout the ride.
Escape to Africa is a hardy challenge but one which will take your breath away in more ways than one.
Sign up for the Escape and help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
