Our three year partnership with one of the UK’s leading pub retailers and brewers, Greene King, kicked off in May 2012 and thanks to the generosity of employees, customers and suppliers, their £1 million target has been reached and exceeded, eight months ahead of schedule, with our total topping £1.2million.
Greene King is continuing to support Macmillan and its staff are excited to have raised far beyond the £1 million to help provide support to people living with cancer.
Since the partnership began, staff have thrown themselves into fundraising by climbing mountains, bungee jumping, sky-diving, running, cycling, swimming, holding coffee mornings and even pushing a bed along a dual carriage way.
Mark Blythman, Strategy & Communications Director at Greene King got the wheels of Greene King’s fundraising into motion by taking part in a four day cycle challenge from London to Paris with his friends, collectively raising a whopping £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our teams are already very involved in fundraising for charities on a local level, but this is our first UK-wide charity partnership. We recognise the importance of raising awareness and as much money as possible to support the hard work that goes into supporting both people living with cancer, as well as their family and friends. It really is a great cause and we are excited to be helping the Macmillan team do this.
