Get in on the Macmillan Action Team during lockdown and beyond

Volunteering as part of Team Macmillan is a great way to supercharge your social life whilst getting the feel-good buzz of knowing you are making a difference.

No matter how much time you can spare, our UK-wide Action Team offers a flexible way to volunteer with a friendly bunch of like-minded people who want to improve the lives of people living with cancer.

As part of our team you’ll have the support of our responsive Volunteer Managers and receive a monthly email newsletter, with a variety of opportunities to get involved. In usual times this would include everything from cheering at challenge events to collecting at concerts. You choose the activities you can help with and we send you all the details you need to join us.

How you can help during the coronavirus pandemic

We have had to temporarily suspend some of the usual activities during the coronavirus crisis, but the Action Team are still playing a key role in supporting Macmillan.

We have a private Facebook group within the Macmillan Volunteering Facebook page which brings together Action Team members from across the UK, with new and innovative ways to support our fundraising and services.

You can:

  • participate in virtual cheerpoints, like the one set up for the 2.6 Challenge in April
  • get involved with coordinated campaigning and fundraising
  • thank key workers and help us raise awareness on social media
  • and make inspirational new friends whose lives have been touched by cancer.

If that sounds like something you’d like to do, apply to join our Macmillan Action Team today and get access to the Facebook group as well as exciting events you can join once restrictions are lifted.
