Help us clear the decks

We launched our new brand identity a year ago, and volunteers were one of the first groups of people to hear about it through last autumn's Volunteer News. Since that date we’ve been applying the branding across materials and in the brand advertising campaign that launched earlier this year. It’s all part of helping us to ensure we’re relevant to everyone affected by cancer, and to potential donors who can support our cause. That’s why we want all of our communications to be consistent with this branding.

To mark a year since launching the new identity, we’re calling on volunteers to help us make way for new branded materials by recycling, reusing and repurposing the old ones. If you’ve a cupboard that’s overflowing with old cancer information booklets or leaflets and you don’t know where to start, worry not. We’ve got a great system in place to help you clear the decks in a cost-effective and sustainable way. 

Out with the old and in with the new

All the information you need for your big green clear out can be found on this handy checklist – but here are some of the key points to note:

  • If you’ve got small quantities of things like mugs, pens, clothing or balloons, then why not use them at home or give them to a local community project.
  • If you have large quantities of mugs, pens, clothing, banners, bunting and balloons, contact Macmillan’s Supporter Care Team on 0127 495 7730 or and they can advise what to do
  • Cover up old stickers on collecting buckets and tins with new ones, which you can also order via our Support Care Team on 0127 495 77 30
  • Recycle printed or cardboard materials at a local recycling point – you can find one close to you here
  • Shred any documents containing personal data in a home shredder.
