Making a personal major gift
Personal donations
By giving a personal donation you are doing something incredibly special for people living with cancer. By doing this we can make sure more people than ever before get the support they need from the moment they are diagnosed with cancer.
Philanthropy helps us to transform the services and support we give to people living with cancer. By supporting our work, you can make a huge difference to the people we are here to support.
Voluntary donations make up more than 98% of our income, and it's only thanks to the support of people like you that we can continue our work.

How we can work together
We know that giving at a philanthropic level is hugely personal. We want to make sure that your experience of working with Macmillan fits your expectations. We work with every major donor to make sure that they can engage with our work in the way that suits them best.
All philanthropists will receive:
- a dedicated member of the Philanthropy Team to be your point of contact
- regular updates on the impact of your giving
- opportunity to visit our services as is appropriate to your interests
- exclusive invitations to information-led events and priority access to our fundraising events.
Making your donation reach even further
The Macmillan Endowment Fund: investing in tomorrow
The Macmillan Endowment Fund provides financial support for Macmillan’s work now and in the future. By giving to the fund, you will help to ensure we can provide future generations with the quality cancer care and support they will need.
Maximising your gift with Gift Aid
UK tax-payers can increase their gift by completing this Gift Aid declaration. This could increase your gift by an additional 25%. Please note that you must have paid income tax on the amount of Gift Aid claimed in the tax year you made your donation.
Tax relief for higher rate taxpayers
If you're a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim back the difference between higher rate and basic rate tax on the value of your donation. For a 40% rate taxpayer, that means for every £1 you donate, you can claim back 25p in tax relief.
