Altnagelvin Macmillan Support Centre

Work is nearing completion on our £1.5m, state-of-the-art Macmillan Support Centre, part of the Health and Wellbeing Campus at Altnagelvin Hospital.

The new centre is designed to provide a dedicated facility for people affected by cancer.

Patients, their families and carers are at the heart of this Macmillan centre, that’s why people affected by cancer have helped shape how it looks and feels, as well as the support it provides.

At the Macmillan Support Centre, we will offer all-round practical and emotional support in a calm, friendly and welcoming environment.

Visitors can relax in the centre’s library and browse the wide range of cancer information leaflets - or wait for an appointment in comfort.

There’s a dedicated suite of rooms where individuals can receive counselling, benefits advice, wig and prosthesis fitting, or complementary therapies.

And there’s a larger room for group activities such as art therapy, gentle exercise classes, support group meetings and training sessions for volunteers and staff.

Without the generous support of local people, none of this would be possible.

Can you help us by making a donation today? Every penny counts and you can make a huge difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer.
