Professor Jane Maher

Joint Chief Medical Officer

Jane has played a key role in Macmillan for nearly 20 years. As well as being Joint Chief Medical Officer at the charity, she is a world-renowned consultant clinical oncologist having presented her research and been a key note speaker at conferences in Europe, North America and Australia. She has also written more than 100 published articles and has held roles as Chair of the National Consequences of Cancer Treatment Working Group. 

Jane has acted as Clinical Adviser for Aftercare and Survivorship for NHS Improvement as well as in Europe and Canada. She holds honorary academic roles at University College London and at the University of Hertfordshire. In addition to working at Macmillan, Jane is a consultant oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
