System redesign programmes

Macmillan Cancer Support is working with a number of partners across the UK on large scale programmes to improve the journey for people affected by cancer.

Each programme is different and specific to the needs of patients living in that area, but all aim to ensure patients have a better experience and improved outcomes.

The programmes focus on different pathways points including:

  • prevention and screening
  • treatment and recovery
  • living with and beyond cancer
  • palliative or end of life care.

They also look at improving specific areas such as:

  • patient experience and quality of life
  • health and wellbeing
  • pathway redesign
  • clinical outcomes
  • the environment.
