Thank you for choosing to donate in memory of someone special. There are lots of different ways to donate or collect donations for Macmillan. However you decide to remember your loved one, their story will continue. Because of them, Macmillan will be able to help more people living with cancer across the UK.

Ways to donate in memory

Make a donation

Donating online is easy. You can make a one off donation, pay in a collection or set up monthly donations. When you donate, you can tell us who you are donating in memory of.


Set up a Tribute Fund

A Tribute Fund is a free, online page to remember your loved one. You can share your favourite memories, pictures and stories by creating a tribute fund page or search for an existing one. You can also use your page to collect donations to support people living with cancer.

Fundraise in memory

Take part in an event to remember someone close to you. Macmillan run many events you can take part in, from Coffee Morning to Mighty Hikes and Darts Marathons. Or if you'd rather do your own thing, we've got ideas, tips and a free fundraising pack to help get you started.

Funeral and memorial collections

Remember and celebrate the life of someone incredibly special by organising a collection for Macmillan at their funeral. You could collect donations online or in person.

Leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will to Macmillan in memory of someone special is one of the most impactful ways you can continue their story. Legacy gifts make up over a third of our charity’s income and help us do whatever it takes for people living with cancer now and in the future. Learn more or register to write your will.

    There are many different ways you can make a donation in memory of someone important to you. These include:

    • Collect donations at a funeral, celebration of life, anniversary of person's death or for any special occasion.  
    • Set up a free, online Tribute Fund. You can share special memories and collect donations for Macmillan in memory of your loved one.

  • Why donate in memory of someone?

    Remembering someone by donating to or fundraising for Macmillan is a special way to keep their memory alive and continue their story.

    We offer many different ways for you to remember someone special to you. However you wish to give, you'll help make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer now and in the future.

  • How do I collect funeral donations?

    You may choose to collect in person at a funeral or celebration of life, by asking for donations instead of flowers. The funeral director may be able to help organise this.

    We can provide free postage envelopes with a Gift Aid form in them. Call our Supporter Care team on 0300 1000 200 or email fundraising@macmillan.org.uk.

    You can also collect these donations by creating a tribute fund page or a by making an online donation.

  • How much should I donate in memory of someone?

    Donating to Macmillan in memory of someone special to you is a great way to honour them. How much you would like to donate and in which way you would like to donate can be personal. 

    However you decide to give, you'll make an impact in the lives of people living with cancer.
