About the event
Looking to pick up a new activity this summer? Skipping could be the new exercise for you! This challenge is aimed at people of all fitness levels, allowing you to take the challenge at your own pace.
For experienced exercisers, we recommend 3 to 4 days of higher intensity exercise (up to 15 minutes of skipping) then the remainder of the week with lower intensity exercise (5 minutes or less per day).
If you’re new to skipping, start out with a minute a day and try and work your way up to 5 minutes throughout the month!

What is the ‘Skip into June with Macmillan’ challenge?
The challenge is to skip every day for Macmillan during June. There is no daily time limit but skipping up to 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a week is recommended. To save your knees and joints, we recommend limiting your skipping for the rest of the week, keeping to 5 mins max. The challenge will help to raise vital funds for Macmillan.

Can I complete the challenge at my own pace during June?
The challenge is completely based on you and your fitness level. We want to encourage people to give skipping a go and pick up the rope every day throughout June. For experienced exercisers, we recommend varying your exercise levels, having 3 to 4 high intensity (15 min) days and then having the rest of the week at a lower intensity (5 mins). If you’re new to skipping, start out with a minute a day and try and work your way up to 5 minutes throughout the month!
-
Can I start the challenge late or early? What if I miss a day?
We will be encouraging everyone to start their challenge on 1 June and skip throughout the month. However, if you are joining the challenge later or you have missed a few days, you can continue into July.
