Richard Taylor

Executive Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications

Richard is a passionate fundraiser and wants Macmillan to be the first charity people diagnosed or caring for someone with cancer go to for support.

Richard's strategy

Richard is responsible for our FMC activities, working on everything from award-winning brand campaigns to amazing fundraising events like World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

He works hard to ensure the issues most important to people living with cancer stay at the forefront of the news agenda and public mind.

Career and credentials

Richard joined Macmillan in October 2015. He believes we are the most ambitious health charity in the UK, supporting people with one of the nation’s biggest health issues.

He has over 17 years of experience in the charity sector. He was Chair of the Institute of Fundraising (IOF) from 2014 to 2017, and was recently made a Fellow of the IOF.

The non-work stuff

Richard lives in Cricklade Wiltshire with his wife Marit and Airedale dog, Florence. He has four sons, all of whom have left home, and now enjoys the freedom of an empty nest.

He is a Man United fan and in his spare time enjoys walking, gardening, the occasional drink, going to the theatre and looking after his beloved classic car.
