Richard Taylor

Executive Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications

Richard joined Macmillan in October 2015 and is responsible for leading Macmillan’s fundraising, marketing and communication activities. This ranges from Macmillan’s award-winning brand campaigns and high-profile fundraising events to ensuring issues important to people affected by cancer stay forefront in the media and public mind. 

Richard began his career in retail, working in operations for high street retailers like Boots, Burton and the Early Learning Centre where he was the UK and Europe’s Stores Director. He joined Imperial Cancer Research Fund in 1998 and was heavily involved in the merger which created Cancer Research UK in 2002. He remained at Cancer Research UK as Fundraising and Marketing Director for 13 years. Having worked in charities for over 17 years Richard is an experienced leader in the third sector. He was previously chair of the Institute of Fundraising and The Neuro Foundation.
