Patsy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2004.
The Macmillan Support Line gave her a neutral space to talk through her feelings.

Patsy's story

The support is evident when you’re in as a patient around you. I think what’s probably less known is there’s things like the helpline for times when you just need somebody to talk to.

I have rang the Macmillan Support Line on many occasions when feeling depressed, tearful or just in need of someone just to listen and I can never thank them enough for their help, guidance, counsel and importantly for being there for me in a way at the time that no one else could have been.

When you just need somebody to talk to, you can pick the phone up at anytime and somebody’s there to listen. That’s invaluable not only for patients like me, but for family members, for people involved, for friends, you know, there’s so many, so many people that can use that help and support line.
