TONI&GUY|, one of the world’s most established hairdressing brands, is working with Macmillan to launch Strength in Style, a scheme to help improve the quality of hair care on the high street for people affected by cancer.
Drawing on the experience and expertise from the salons and Toni Mascolo himself, Macmillan and TONI&GUY have developed a training programme called Strength in Style to ensure that people affected by cancer will have access to a salon in their area where a trained professional can provide specialist support and advice on hair care.
The initial consultation is free of charge where you can talk to a specially trained stylist, this includes guidance and advice on any hair care and styling techniques going forward.
Toni Mascolo says ‘With over two million people living with cancer in the UK, TONI &GUY has the opportunity to have a huge impact on people’s lives. Providing expert care for someone undergoing cancer treatment is something the entire company is passionate to support.’
There are over 100 salons offering this expert service on the high street already, and more salons are waiting to be trained up. The two day training programme will cover everything a stylist needs to know about speaking to people affected by cancer, the effects of treatment on hair and wig styling and cutting.
Staff across the country will also continue to fundraise throughout the year to help Macmillan reach and improve the lives of even more people affected by cancer.
