Celebrating Macmillan's Centenary Year - 2011
Welcome to Macmillan's centenary page
In 2011 we celebrated our 100th birthday!
See how we celebrated our centenary in 2011...
The Biggest Thank You
To mark the centenary we created a brilliant website called The Biggest Thank You. It gives people affected by cancer a place to come together and thank those who are special to them and who helped them during their cancer experience. It could be a loved one, a nurse or a friend. It's a fantastic way to remind all those people who have helped you through your cancer journey how much they matter.
We launched a video to support the Biggest Thank You:
100 years and counting
Over the past 100 years, we have achieved many great things for people affected by cancer which we want to celebrate with all our supporters, staff and volunteers who make it happen. But we’re not about to rest on our laurels. We will continue to build on our achievements and find new ways to give people the support they so desperately need.
Our Centenary Gala
In November 2011 we held the Macmillan Gala Event at the London Palladium to celebrate our centenary. Hosted by Graham Norton, it also featured the stars of stage and screen including Singer and I’m a Celebrity star, Jimmy Osmond and award-winning comedian Miranda Hart.
