Throughout 2011 we will be celebrating our 100th birthday!
We have big plans for our special anniversary and will be updating this page with all the latest information about what we are doing for our centenary.
To mark the centenary we've created a brilliant new website called The Biggest Thank You|. It gives people affected by cancer a place to come together and thank those who are special to them and who helped them during their cancer experience. It could be a loved one, a nurse or a friend. It's a fantastic way to remind all those people who have helped you through your cancer journey how much they matter.
We've launched a new video to support the Biggest Thank You|:
We'll also be highlighting centenary fundraising ideas in the new year and details of how you can get involved to enable us to continue to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. In the meantime, if you are holding a fundraising event and need anything centenary branded, please go to our Be.Macmillan site| for all the posters, logos and ideas you need.
Over the past 100 years, we have achieved many great things for people affected by cancer which we want to celebrate with all our supporters, staff and volunteers who make it happen. But we’re not about to rest on our laurels. We will continue to build on our achievements and find new ways to give people the support they so desperately need.
On the 28th November we will be holding the Macmillan Gala Event| at the London Palladium to celebrate our centenary. Hosted by Graham Norton and featuring the stars of stage and screen including Singer and I’m a Celebrity star, Jimmy Osmond and award-winning comedian Miranda Hart we know that this event will help us celebrate in style.
We've already got Fearne Cotton, Liz Hurley, Edith Bowman, Rufus Hound and Donna Air on the guest list. Will you be in on the evening of a lifetime? There are still tickets left, including a limited number at the unmissable price of £35. So book early to avoid disappointment. You'll take part in a fantastic fundraiser, help us celebrate our big birthday in style and make money for people with cancer.
