Making impact with investments

The Macmillan Innovation Impact Investment Portfolio is a new way for us to invest £3.5million until the end of 2025 in start-up businesses that are developing ground breaking cancer care products and technology.

By investing this way, Macmillan hopes to play a critical role in developing new ways to transform the lives of people with cancer, and inspire other organisations and investors to support innovation in cancer care.

Advisory group

Our Advisory Group, chaired by Macmillan Trustee Rachel Higham, supports Macmillan to make decisions about what cancer care innovations to invest in and to advises us on the future direction of the portfolio.

Identifying investment opportunities

We are initially working with the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), NHS England's network of innovation agencies, and other investors to identify investment opportunities with the greatest potential for people with cancer. As the AHSN is part of the NHS, it is uniquely placed to support adoption and scale of innovation.
