Information and support on the high street
Macmillan and Boots UK are working together to make sure everyone has access to the cancer information and support they need – when they need it, where they need it.
Support on the high street
We know that sometimes, just having somebody to talk to can help. That’s why we have provided bespoke training to Boots pharmacists so they can help people affected by cancer get the support they need.
Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists are available in some Boots stores and can help talk through with you how to get more information and support for the concerns you may have. They can also help connect you to cancer information services and experts in your local community and signpost you to wider Macmillan services.
Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists have had additional training to help them talk to customers about the benefits of physical activity and cancer. They can also signpost customers to additional resources to help them become more active.
A new ‘Get Active, Feel Good DVD’ and support pack, developed by Macmillan Cancer Support, is now available in Boots UK stores free of charge. The DVD offers a low level exercise to music programme designed specifically for people living with or after cancer, and stories from people describing how becoming active has helped them.
There are more than 1,500 Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists across the UK, to find your local Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacist visit boots.com
