Milly is running for Macmillan in memory of her dear Grandfather who died of bowel cancer. Who will you support or run for this year?
Milly Taylor took part in this year’s Great Birmingham Run in loving memory of her dear Grandfather. Given only 6 months to live in May 2000, he enjoyed life for a further 10 years before sadly losing his battle to Multiple Myeloma.
He not only taught Milly to fight but also to never give up, never give up hope in anything in life. Never had their family ever thought that this could emerge because Milly’s Grandfather was not only physically fit but also incredibly strong mentally. For it was him who showed in Milly’s words that 'One can make one’s self stronger through difficulties, however tiny or hard they may be’.
It is with this determination that has encouraged Milly to run the half marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support and to date has raised over £500.
Macmillan helps people with cancer and their families every day, and any amount will make a huge difference so that practical, medical, emotional and financial support can be provided to those who need it most with the toughest fight of their life. We all know someone affected by cancer, we can all do something to help.
