Why return for round two?
You’ve got the experience
You will have gained so much knowledge and experience the first time around. You will know what training worked for you, what provisions you needed on the day. And how to adapt to changing situations, such as the terrain or the weather. It’s also a huge boost to your confidence knowing that you’re up to the challenge.
Try something different
If you’ve already completed a Mighty Hike, why not try out a different route? The excitement from being in the great outdoors includes being in a different environment to one you’re used to. Whether you choose the mountains of the Lake District, the clifftop views of the Jurassic Coast or the shingle bays of Norfolk, there’s something for everyone.
Be part of part of something bigger
By taking part in a second Mighty Hike, you’re helping to build momentum, inspire other hikers, and pass on your valuable knowledge to them too.Taking part in a Mighty Hike isn’t just about the miles you walk, but the people you meet. Whether you’re getting to know your workmates in a different environment, chatting to hikers who you’ve never met before, or catching up with some old mates, every conversation matters.
Create new memories
Even if you repeat your previous Mighty Hike route because you loved it so much, we guarantee it will feel different the second time around. Many returning hikers tell us their second Mighty Hike feels more emotional. Whether it’s having a different set of friends or family with you, or different conditions on the day, no two hikes are ever the same. You will also meet new people and have different conversations to last time, sharing stories about their reasons for taking part. All these things help enrich the experience of your Mighty Hike.
First year doing the Half Marathon and certainly won’t be the last. What an amazing day. Thank you so much to all the wonderful MacMillan Marshalls… especially the lady in the stream at the waterfall! You were all so encouraging and wonderful and kept the spirits up in definitely challenging conditions. - Rebekah
