The Corporate Volunteer Award

for corporate partners who make an outstanding contribution through volunteering

About this award

This award is for employees of our corporate partners who make an outstanding contribution to people affected by cancer through their volunteering. These individuals and groups go above and beyond to give us their time, inside and/or outside of work, as well as making a difference through their organisation's partnership with us.

2017 UK winner - Robbie Newton
The Charity Champion rising to the challenge

From the moment our partnership with Travis Perkins began in 2015, Assistant Branch Manager Robbie has been endlessly enthusiastic as a Charity Champion. He has been instrumental in driving the partnership forward by calling and emailing other branches to inspire them and offer fundraising tips.

Robbie’s dedication to fundraising for Macmillan knows no bounds, and he regularly gives up his weekends for the cause. In 2016 alone he took on 26 active challenges, including the London Marathon, numerous half marathons and Tough Mudder events, as well as England's longest zip wire. On top of this, he also played a key role in organising and driving Travis Perkins’ most successful fundraising event in 2016 – The Tour de TP.

With his infectious passion, Robbie gives his all to his volunteer role and is an outstanding ambassador for Macmillan.
