Nick's background
Nicholas Reed is senior medical editor at Macmillan for information about cancers of the endocrine system (hormone-producing glands) and gynaecological (female reproductive) organs. He has been a consultant in clinical oncology at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow since 1984.
In 2012 he was appointed Honorary Professor in Oncology at University of Glasgow. He was a founding member and former secretary and Chairman of the UKINETS (UK & Ireland Neuro-Endocrine Tumour Society). He is a member of the Advisory Board for the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) and chairs the scientific abstract committee for the annual conference. He helped to found SCONET, bringing together Scottish experts in NET tumours. He recently established a new clinic for rare gynaecological cancers in West of Scotland.
