Wholesome Girls Club Coffee Morning
In 2025, Juliette hosted a Coffee Morning with her group the Wholesome Girls Club. Based in Manchester, the club brings people together to make friends and bond over wholesome activities.
Moving to a new city can be hard. When Juliette moved to Manchester in 2024, she found making new friends a challenge. She didn’t let this stop her. Instead, she created her own community group to support others who felt the same.
"I moved to Manchester in 2024 and I didn’t know anyone in the city and worked a remote job. I created the Wholesome Girls Club about a year later as I had struggled to make real friends or any real community there. I wanted to help other women get out, meet new people and help create community and combat loneliness.
"We do wholesome events in Manchester which include activities like walks, wine nights, book swaps, pottery painting and much more. They are very casual, welcoming events.
"I wanted to start incorporating some type of charity work into the community and decided to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning because it is a charity I have always been familiar with. I remember doing a Coffee Morning with my mum when I was a teenager, not long after my Nan had passed away from breast cancer. It's a memory that has stuck with me because it’s a lovely way to bring people together whilst also raising money for people affected by cancer.
"For our Wholesome Girls Club Coffee Morning, we did a walk around Salford Quays and had coffee, tea and cakes. The event went really well; we met some new faces in the community and had a lovely walk in the sun.
"To anyone else thinking of hosting a Coffee Morning, I would say do it! It’s so simple and easy, the bunting and supplies provided by Macmillan makes it so much easier as well. It’s a lovely way to get family, friends, and your community together for a cause that impacts so many people. This was probably one of my favourite events because it was so nice to get together for coffee, cake and for a walk but it had an extra special feeling knowing you are raising money for a good cause."
