Our partnership with New Look

New Look is a global high street retail chain with over 600 UK stores. They have been supporting Macmillan since August 2015.

Our partnership with New Look began in August 2015 when Macmillan won the staff vote for a new charity partnership. The partnership is with the New Look Foundation, and is split between Macmillan, Teenage Cancer Trust and several Indian charities that are supported by New Look. With a target of £1 million to be raised over the three years, Macmillan will receive approximately £400,000. The partnership aims to raise money for the charities through employee and customer engagement, expand the charities’ reach through New Look’s UK customers, and implement cancer awareness programmes.

In just five months of partnership, more than £100,000 has been raised for Macmillan, smashing all targets. The partnership launched with bake sales across all stores and support centres, raising more than £25,000 in total. Since then, New Look employees have thrown themselves into fundraising, taking part in runs, swims, leg waxes, store-to-store conga dances, Tough Mudders, and Santa Dashes. We have also engaged customers through a Gift Card promotion campaign, which raised almost £50,000 for the Foundation.

The stand-out fundraiser has been the New Look Globetrot. This event challenged teams of employees to travel the furthest distance visiting as many New Look stores as possible within 36 hours – with no money! The winning team made it all the way to the distribution centre in Poland, and the event raised more than £55,000 in total for the Foundation.

After an incredibly successful first six months in partnership, we’re really excited about what’s coming up in 2016 and beyond, and most importantly the difference the partnership can make to the lives of people affected by cancer.
