We shape policy

The Macmillan Policy team demands better for people affected by cancer by working across the UK to develop, drive and support policy solutions to improve their lives.

Workforce

We need the right mix of skills and effective working across teams and care settings to better meet the changing needs of people affected by cancer

Cancer drugs

Everyone should have timely access to the cancer treatment that is right for them, no matter where they live, how old they are or what type of cancer they have.

Carers

Almost 1.5 million people look after someone with cancer in England, yet more than half aren't getting the support they need.

Money and cancer

People with cancer face a significant financial impact as a result of their diagnosis. They need support from financial services providers, the NHS, Governments and beyond.

Patient Experience

One in five people living with cancer say that they feel treated as a set of symptoms rather than being recognised as a person. We don’t think that’s good enough.

End of life

It is vital to offer people choice and control over the things that are important to them at this point of maximum vulnerability in their lives.

Cancer registration

We believe that patients have the right to know how their data is being used, and should have the opportunity to make an informed decision about their involvement.
