Macmillan’s fundraising team would like to thank the professionals who have helped with its campaigns over the last year. 

Stories from professionals like Karen Aylward, Macmillan Family Support Worker (pictured), allow the team to breathe life into its fundraising asks, and lend a face to the work we do.

Karen was featured in the February cash appeal this year alongside the Fitzpatrick family who received help and support following their Dad’s diagnosis of a brain tumour. By getting involved in sharing the Fitzpatrick’s story, Karen has helped Macmillan raise over £90,000. This money could help fund almost two additional Macmillan professionals like Karen, for a whole year.

‘I am always happy to support Macmillan in whatever way I can ... to me it is really important to get involved and be part of the team. It's also been an interesting learning experience to see just a small part of what the fundraising side of Macmillan does.’

Many of Macmillan’s supporters choose to make a financial gift because they or their family have been helped by a Macmillan professional. By telling the stories of Macmillan professionals, it reminds supporters of just how vital Macmillan’s services are, and what a difference they can make to peoples’ lives.
